This issue continues the Civil War in Hell storyline, in which Cremator attempts to unite Hell’s archdukes against the powers of the Netherworld. He is a classic “Bad Girl” era character in the Chaos! universe, often associated with Lady Death as her blacksmith and guardian of Hell. After Chaos! Comics filed for bankruptcy in 2002; the rights to Cremator eventually passed to Avatar Press and later to Coffin Comics, where he remains a staple of Lady Death‘s supporting cast.
