Grading CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays
CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays are typically graded on a scale of one (1) to five (5), with five being the highest and indicating a near-new condition. The grading focuses on the condition of the disc and packaging.
Grading Scale:
- 5/5 (Excellent): Disc and packaging are in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear or damage.
- 4/5 (Very Good): The disc and packaging have minor wear and tear but are still in good condition.
- 3/5 (Good): Disc and packaging show more noticeable wear, such as scratches or fading.
- 2/5 (Fair): Disc and packaging have significant wear and may have some damage.
- 1/5 (Poor): Disc and packaging are heavily damaged or in poor condition.
Specific Condition Factors:
- Disc: Look for scratches, smudges, fingerprints, and other visible markings on the disc’s readable surface.
- Packaging: Evaluate the case condition, inserts, and other accompanying materials.
- Sealed Products: For sealed products, grading focuses on the condition of the packaging and any visible imperfections.
