Grading Consoles, Computers and Games

CONSOLES

Boxed: Good to mint condition with all essential accessories. The original, first-party controller must be in the matching colour (or a matching special edition, if applicable). The packaging must be official and include all necessary inserts.

Unboxed: As above, just without the packaging.

Discounted: The working console is in poor cosmetic condition. It has all the essential accessories, but packaging may not be supplied. It is complete with any brand of compatible controller.

F (Non-Working): The product must be intact and not crushed, bent, snapped, or missing parts (covers, buttons, disc trays, etc.). Packaging and accessories may be missing.

  • Examples: Dead, cracked, water damage, not powering up, etc.

COMPUTERS

(A) Mint: The product is in mint/new condition with the original packaging and all original accessories.

(B) Good: The product is in good condition but possibly missing the original packaging or accessories.

(C) Working: The product is in poor condition but is fully working. It may be missing essential packaging or accessories.

(F) Non-Working: The product is intact, not crushed, bent, or snapped. It may have packaging and accessories.

  • Examples: Dead, cracked (screen, body, bezel, etc.), water damage, broken/bleeding LCD (screen), not powering up, audio (speaker, microphone) faults, broken aerial, etc.

GAMES

100: A perfect score is granted only if these criteria are fulfilled:

  • The factory-sealed shipping box is received
  • ComiXpo opens the factory-sealed box
  • ComiXpo extracts the factory-sealed item from the shipping case without additional contact
  • There is no evidence of damage to the item or shipping container

90-99: These scores are for sealed items with shrink wrap or minor case/container damage. For example, a score of 99 is awarded to a factory-sealed retail item with intact branding seals, such as the ‘PlayStation Ribbon’ on the outer shrink wrapping where the product or shrink wrapping shows no signs of damage. A score of 98 is given for a factory-sealed retail item that lacks branding seals where no damage to the product or shrink wrapping was noted.

50-89: These scores pertain to items classified as ‘complete.’ Complete means the graded item includes all original parts, pieces, and/or documentation initially accompanying it. This encompasses any promotional materials that might have come with the item. For instance, if a game was released with a registration card, the item must be considered complete. However, if a game had a flyer for other games/products, this does not contribute to completeness, although a higher score may still be given. Grading within this range can fluctuate significantly depending on the condition of all included components, which will be specified in the product description.

20-49: These scores apply to items missing one or more components. For instance, a complete game may have the artwork, user manual, and disc, but if the case is not original, it falls into this category. In game software, missing artwork or manuals generally result in this grading range. Other scenarios may include a demo disc that was originally included but is now absent.

1-19: These scores are reserved for ‘loose’ software and associated material(s). Loose means what a buyer would have expected to receive when purchased from a retail store, excluding promotional, review, debugging, or prototype software. These grades are infrequently assigned to software but are common among buyers who seek to purchase these graded items for sentimental rather than playable or financial reasons.
