Jersey Gods #1 is a mashup of cosmic space opera and suburban romantic comedy, often described as an homage to Jack Kirby’s New Gods. Barock, a fierce god of war from the planet Neboron, crash-lands in an upscale New Jersey mall while battling his sinister adversary, Minog. During the battle, Barock saves Zoe, a “high-maintenance” South Jersey girl who has just been dumped by her boyfriend. The two unexpectedly fall in love. Instead of Zoe moving to a distant galaxy, Barock moves to Earth. The story explores their life as a newlywed couple living in Cherry Hill, just three houses down from Zoe’s overprotective parents.
