The time is the future. The crew aboard a massive commercial space vessel is en route to Earth with a load of extraterrestrial ore when they are sidetracked by mysterious signals from a nearby planet. When the crew of the spaceship Nostromo investigates a transmission from a derelict ship on a deserted moon, the executive officer, Kane (Hurt), is attacked by an unknown organism that attaches itself to his face. Unable to remove the creature, the crew don’t realise that it has made Kane the host of a monstrous alien, one which will burst from his chest and proceed to hunt down the crew one by one. The cast also includes Tom Skerritt, Harry Dean Stanton and Veronica Cartwright.
