In Warblade Endangered Species #3, Warblade travels to rural France, where he discovers a house belonging to the three Daemonites responsible for burning down his childhood orphanage. After killing two of them and using a jet’s afterburner to incinerate the third, he becomes convinced that his ally, Pillar, has betrayed him. Meanwhile, in Tanzania, Ripclaw fails to recruit a game hunter named Skinner against the Daemonites, resulting in a duel. The issue concludes with Warblade and Ripclaw arriving in Brazil to confront Pillar, who has been leading a splinter group called The Faction.
Warblade arrives at a house in rural France. Inside, he finds a picture of the orphanage he grew up in being burned and realises the house belongs to the three Daemonites responsible. They catch him and attack. He kills two of them and runs outside into Pillar’s jet. He uses its afterburner to incinerate the third Daemonite and takes off, convinced that Pillar set him up. In Tanzania, Ripclaw tries and fails to convince the game hunter, Skinner, that they have a mutual enemy in the Daemonites. The two men fight to a draw, and then Warblade arrives to pick up Ripclaw. In Brazil, Pillar seems to be leading the Faction towards Brasilia, using chest blasters to clear a path through the rainforest. In truth, he is leading them away from the city, and they soon grow suspicious. They stop in a village, and the Faction members realise their chest blasters have been disabled. Pillar turns on them just before Ripclaw and Warblade arrive, ready to kill him.
