Star Trek: Operation Assimilation #1 (Collector’s Item Issue) Marvel presents Paramount Comics April 1997 (Very Fine)
$9.95
Star Trek: Operation Assimilation #1 depicts the first tragic contact between the Romulans and the Borg, predating the Federation’s awareness of the Collective. Commander Moliok and her crew are captured and forcibly assimilated, explaining the “scooped-out” outposts discovered by the Enterprise in The Neutral Zone. Notably, this is one of the few Star Trek comics where none of the main characters from the TV series appears, focusing entirely on the Romulan perspective.
Star Trek: Operation Assimilation #1 is a standalone one-shot comic published by Marvel Comics under the short-lived Paramount Comics imprint. It serves as a prequel to the Star Trek: The Next Generation first-season finale, The Neutral Zone, and was released as a promotional tie-in following the theatrical success of Star Trek: First Contact. The story follows Commander Moliok, a ruthless leader of a Romulan Warbird who is currently assigned to quelling rebellions on the fringes of the Romulan Star Empire. During her mission, her crew encounters a mysterious, massive cubic vessel—the Borg.
